Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a DC motor with high torque, high efficiency and superior rectifying characteristic while making the thickness of an armature thinner by satisfying the predetermined relation between the number of field poles and the number of armature windings. CONSTITUTION:A field pole 17 is composed of 2mn (m= integer not less than 1, n=integer not less than 4) number of magnetic poles 17-1-17-8 which are magnetized into N or S poles in the axial direction of a rotary shaft at uniform angular intervals. An armature 18 is composed of m(2n+ or -2) number of armature windings 18-1-18-6. Further, there is provided a commutator 19 composed of mn(2n-2) number of commutator segments 19-1-19-24 having the phase angle of 360/(2n+ or -2) degree, respectively, in order that turnover of an armature current is effected at the rate of mn(2n+ or -2) times per one relative rotation of the armature with the field pole. By so doing, the number of armature windings can be reduced without deteriorating the rectifying characteristic and it becomes possible to obtain a DC motor with high torque, high efficiency and superior rectifying characteristic while making the thickness of the armature thinner.
