Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve surface characteristics and provide adequate grain sizes and grain size distributions by adding ferrous sulfate or ferrous chloride to an aqueous gold chloride soln. added with a small amount of organic dispersants and separating the gold powder thus formed.
CONSTITUTION: One or more of polyvinyl alcohol, stearic acid, sodium benzenesulfonate and glycine are used for the organic dispersant. An aqeous soln. of one or both of ferrous sulfate and ferrous chloride which dissolve in more than equiv. of water preferably at ≤30°C and have been added preferably with a small amount of sulfuric acid is added to the aqueous gold chloride soln. to separate gold powder. At this time, the organic dispersant is beforehand added at about 0.02W0.3g/ll to the aqueous gold chloride soln. or is added together with the aqueous ferrous solfate and ferrous chloride soln.
