Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit the multidisplay watch to have an efficient display surface over the inner circumference of the cell by making the liquid crystal display cell annular, enclosing given parts inside the annular cell, and arranging the display members above the connecting portions provided on the outside of the annular cell. CONSTITUTION:An annular liquid crystal display cell 3 comprises upper and lower glass substrates 25 and 26. An upper polarizing plate 32 is bonded on the upper surface of the substrate 25, and a segment electrode 33 is formed on the lower surface of the substrate 25. A common electrode 34 is formed on the upper surface of the substrate 26, and a lower polarizing plate 36 is bonded on the lower surface of the substrate 26. Under the plate 36 a reflecting plate 24 is arranged. On the outside of the cell 3, connecting portions 30 are provided and connected to a circuit board 16. The inner circumferential portion of the cell 3 has only a sealing portion 21, so that a dial plate 22 is arranged in a large space 31 inside the annular cell 3. The cell 3 integrally displays the lapse of second on an annular second analog display portion 39.
