Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the automatic thickness control system possible to be reactivated without causing the thickness change, by storing the output of the automatic thickness control system when it is inactivated during the rolling work, by producing the signal output obtained by overlapping the control signal of the static control system on said stored output, and by resetting the output of the automatic thickness control system.
CONSTITUTION: When the working automatic thickness control system is inactivated during the rolling work, in the hydraulic screw down system controller possessing the static control system and the automatic thickness control system, this output ΔSH is inputted to the automatic thickness control output corrector which then stores it. Though the hydraulic screw down control is being performed according to the formula 1, if the output ΔSH is reset at "0", the formula 1 makes no change as a whole. That is, the screw position is not changed. If the automatic thickness control system is reactivated, the output ΔS2 starts the work from "0" and performs the automatic thickness control. Since the screw position is not changed as stated above, the thickness accuracy is improved.
