Abstract

PURPOSE: To render image density uniform by providing separately the recirculating routes of a developer not participating in developing scraped with a doctor, and of a developer participating in developing without being scraped, and stirring these developers.
CONSTITUTION: Two recesses are formed on the bottom inside developing vessel 11, where a pair of stirrers 12, 13 for carrying a developer in the directions reverse to each other are provided. Above stirrers 12, 13, magnetic sleeve 15 for supplying the developer, and further above this, magnetic sleeve 20 for developing are arranged. Protuberance 27 from the wall of vessel 11 is located adjacently to the surface of sleeve 20. This protuberance 27 is a doctor for regulating a developer amount. Partition board 28, sliding board 29, and toner concentration detector 30 are provided below doctor 27. The developer mixed with the stirrers is recirculated through 2 independent routes of one for the excess developer removed with doctor 27, and the other for the developer participating in development.
