Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform degassing effectively by using a simplified apparatus in which a liquid to be degassed, containing dissolved gases, e.g., carbon dioxide, oxygen gas, etc., is passed through a static mixer and then subjected to a gas-liquid separation.
CONSTITUTION: A pH of original water 1 is regulated to 3W3.5 by an acid 2, e.g., HCl, etc., to convert total carbonic acid present in the water 1 into free carbonic acid and then passed through the static mixer 3, and at the same time the air 4 is blown into the water to cause disturbance and mixing, whereby accelerating the release of CO2. Then, the water is subjected to the gas-liquid separation, like the action of an aeration tower, in the gas-liquid separation portion 5, and the treated water 6 deprived of carbonic acid is overflowed to the outside and CO2 released and air are discharged as the exhaust gas 7. Also, the static mixer 3 and the gas-liquid separation portion 5 are evacuated by the vacuum pump 8 in order to more raise their degassing effect.
