Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent securely gas from leakage when it is let to flow in a nest of tubes through a plurality of partitions installed between a shell and the nest of tubes by a method wherein a gas short-circuit protective construction between the front partition, the rear partition and the nest is improved.
CONSTITUTION: The gas running from an inlet nozzle 2 into the shell 1 is kept by the front partition 5 from passing through the space between the circumferential portion of the nest 4 and the shell 1 and the gas is kept by an intermediate partition 7 from flowing from the inlet nozzle 2 into an outlet nozzle 3 to flow into the nest 4. Then, the gas which has passed the nest 4 is introduced by the rear partition 6 and the intermediate partition 7 into the outlet nozzle 3. Then, a partition 9 on the nest side of the front partition 5 is fixed to the nest 4 and a clearance 17a is formed between the free and thereof and the partition 5. A guide plate 13 with a convex curved surface is provided facing this clearance 17a so as to form a throat portion 15. This gas short circuit protective construction is made for the rear partition 6 in the like manner.
