Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid the use of chain for drive, by providing a driving device having an output shaft with the shaft center coincident with the driving shaft of the chain equipped with a scraper, and coupling the said both shafts directly.
CONSTITUTION: The driving device 26 is installed on a stand 27 provided to the side wall 25b of a settling basin 25 near the driving shaft 21. Further, a bearing 28 of the driving shaft 21 is fixed to this stand 27. In the driving device 26, a reduction gear 30 is linked to a motor 29, and the rate of revolution of output shaft 31 is further reduced via the worm 32 and worm wheel 33. The shaft centers of the both, output shaft 31 and driving shaft 21, are coincident and directly connected with the flange couplings 34a, 34b. With this constitution, the driving device 26 can drive the chain 23 mounting the scraper 22 in the water without using the transmission chain.
