Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the fusion sticking of low melting point compounds on account of dust deposition in a duct by cooling exhaust gases after incineration of heavy or crude oil ash.
CONSTITUTION: Heavy or crude oil ash is carried from an ash storage tank 2 to an incinerator 3 by air supplied by a Roots-blower 1. In the incinerator 3, heavy or crude oil ash is incinerated with combustion air supplied by a forced ventilator 7. Cooling air from a cooling ventilator 8 and water from a cooling water pump 10 are sprayed from the top of the incinerator 3 into the furnace and cool hot combustion gases in the incinerator 3. If water or steam alone is used to cool combustion gases as the combustion gas cooling medium sprayed from the top of the incinerator 3, it has sufficient cooling effect without increasing the quantity of exhaust gases after being cooled too much. Gas temperature about 700W800°C in the incinerator 3 is cooled to 300W400°C at the outlet of the incinerator 3 by water or steam and cooling air sprayed from the top of the incinerator 3. By doing so, sticking of low melting point compounds to exhaust gas ducts and dust collectors can be prevented.
