Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the captioned member wherein a substance to be worked is intruded into an ornamental sheet by a method wherein the concave part of an upper die is covered with the ornamental sheet, a pre-heated specified substance to be worked is placed on the convex part of a lower die, and both dies are brough close to each other before the substance to be worked is set.
CONSTITUTION: A preheated substance 2 to be worked, composed of glass fibers 2a wreathed by melted polypropylene 2b, is placed on the convex part 22a of a lower die 22, while both ends of an ornamental sheet 3 consisting of an outer skin sheet 4 and an inner skin sheet 5 is fixed on to the lateral side of an upper die 13 by a clamper 14. When the upper die 13 is lowered before the substance 2 gets cooled and set, the ornamental sheet 3 touches the substance 2, receives the heat thereof, and is thereby extended along the concave part 13 a of the upper die 13, while the substance expands along the convex part 22a of the lower die 22. A part of the substance 2 is intruded, for instance, into fibrous hairs 4a through openings 5a of the inner skin sheet 5 composing the ornamental sheet 3 and is joined thereto unitarily, and thus an ornamental member 30 is formed through coating.
