Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform the annealing of a metal wire continuously and uniformly in a small-scale annealing furnace by a method in which a metal wire is annealed while being rolled up and also while turning a cylindrical drum made of a fire- proof material, having a spiral groove on its surface, in the operation of the continuous annealing of the metal wire. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical drum 2 made of a fire-proof material is arranged inside the annealing furnace 1. The surface of the cylindrical drum 2 is provided with the spiral groove 2a, and the drum 2 is also provided rotatably around the axis 4 as the center of the motor M outside the furnace. The atmosphere of the annealing furnace 2 is air or nitrogen gas. The metal wire 5 to be treated is introduced into the annealing furnace 2 through the rewinding drum 6, wound around the groove 2a of the cylindrical drum 2, moved to the right inside the furnace by means of the rotation of the drum 2, annealed at 400-800 deg.C, and then wound around the winding drum 9 outside the furnace. Thereby, metal wire can be annealed continuously and uniformly.
