Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the quantity of oil consumed in a gas turbine to which a compressor is directly connected, by providing a turbo blower in the gear box for the turbine so that the oil mist is separated from air and collected in the gear box.
CONSTITUTION: A turbo blower installed in a gear box for a gas turbine includes a rotor 23 that rotates with a rotor shaft 21. Attached to the rotor shaft 21 is a gear 22 meshed with a gear included in a shafting driven by a gas turbine, not shown. When the rotor shaft 21 is rotated by this, the air containing oil mist in a reduction gear chamber 5 is sucked in the direction of arrows. When the air passes along vanes 24 of the rotor 23 and turns to a centripetal diffuser 25, the oil mist is gathered in the direction of the centrifugal force, and collected through an outlet 26 and an outlet pipe 27.
