Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the four-stage forward and one-stage backward gearing and simplify a hydraulic circuit by constituting the subject gear in the manner that the speed of the 2nd gear transmission of two high and low stages is changed when the 1st gear transmission of three-stage forward and one-stage backward gearing is set at a high-speed stage.
CONSTITUTION: When the speed of a vehicle is further increased from the 3rd speed under the condition that a manual speed-change controlling device is set in the range D4, a 3-4 shift valve 120 is made to transfer to the 4th-speed position on the left. By this an oil route 452 is communicated with an oil route 480 and the line pressure P1 is supplied to a clutch 84 through the intermediary of the oil route 480, a down shift valve 134 and an oil route 618 to place the clutch 84 in the state of engagement, whereby the 4th speed is achieved. On said occasion, since an oil route 478 is communicated with an exhaust-oil route 482 in the 3-4 shift valve and thereby the supply of the oil pressure to the brake 82 of the 2nd transmission is interrupted, a state of locking in the 2nd transmission is prevented.
