Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain duplicates by making a master duplicate by developing and fixing an electrostatic latent image with a magnetic toner providing high residual magnetization characteristics, by magnetizing this master by applying an inverted magnetic field and then by transcribing it on transcription paper by development using the magnetic toner.
CONSTITUTION: After even charging, a picture is projected on base 1 made of a nonmagnetic substance to form an electrostatic latent image, which is developed with magnetic toner A.3 consisting essentially of a magnetic metal such as iron particles and nickel particles, using only γ-Fe2O3, Fe3O3 or the like, or containing resin and then fixed to make a master duplicate. This magnetic toner A has the composition of Fe particles (40%) plus resin and 15μm diameter and at its solid print part, Hc=300e and Br=1,800 gauss. Then, picture 3 on master 4 is magnetized 5 and provided with toner B.6, which is transcribed on trascription paper 7 to obtain a duplicate. The above-mentioned operation is repeated to obtain a number of duplicates.
