Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the wear and deterioration of the photoreceptor, by shifting only the 1st press-contactor part after the end of the original scanning and thus securing a distance between the 1st press-contactor and the photoreceptor.
CONSTITUTION: For the exposure scanning of the original, the image forming optical system 4 and the roller 8 functioning as the 1st press-contactor moves together with the carriage toward the scanning direction of the arrow C to give a scan to the original. And when the return switch is pushed by the part of the shift board to be turned on at the end of the scanning, only the area of the roller 8 is shifted to the lower side with the return command. Then a distance is secured between the photoreceptor 2 and the roller 8 at the return time when the part of the roller 8 moves toward the return direction of the arrow D. And at the home position, a part of the carriage pushes the home position switch 12. Thus the roller 8 shifts toward the direction where the roller 8 is press-contacted again to the photoreceptor 2 to be reset to the state of the first scanning of the original.
