Abstract

PURPOSE: To straighten the bend without special necessity of the straightening die, by forming the bottom of the die holder to hold the forming die into the spherical plane, and by utilizing this spherical plane in finely adjusting the inclination of the forming die, in the straightening apparatus for the bend of the extruded product.
CONSTITUTION: At the extrusion die 5 provided with the straightening apparatus 6 for straightening the bend of the extruded product, the forming die 2 possessing the forming land 4 is fitted into the front center of the die holder 7. The bottom 8 of the die holder 7 is formed into the spherical plane centering at the forming land 4, so as to contact with the holding cavity surface 12 of the lower bolster 11 at the same curvature. The product is extruded through the forming die 2 and is formed by the forming land 4 into the specified section size. Hereupon, if a bend generates in the formed product, the screw 19 is adjusted in order to incline the holder 7 in a fine angle in the bending direction of the formed product utilizing the spherical planes 8, 12, and then, the holder 7 is fixed using the screw 19. By this adjustment, the relative inclination between the forming land 4 and the extruding direction for the material is changed, and the bend of the formed product is straightened.
