Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve combustion efficiency in a fluidized boiler which uses as fuel low quality coal having high ash content by recirculating fine particle ashes contained in burnt ash whose unburned carbon content is high to the fluidized layer for recombustion.
CONSTITUTION: Coal-wash sludge 7 stored in hopper 6 is fed into boiler body 1 by a predetermined quantity through screw feeder 2 to form fluid layer 8 at the lower portion of the boiler body 1. The sludge 7 in the fluidized layer 8 is fluidized by air introduced through distributer 3 positioned under the fluid layer 8 and burned there. The burnt ash resulting from combustion is contained in exhaust gas 11 as scattering dust and introduced into cyclone collector 4 through smoke passage 10. Thus the cyclone collector 4 separates from the exhaust gas 11 scattering dust, which is divided by a grader 5 into fine particle ash 16 and rough particle ash 17. The fine particle ash 16 which contains relatively large amount of unburned carbon is supplied into the fluid layer 8 by air 13 through coal supply pipe 15 for recombustion.
