Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable a high-speed mass production, by a method wherein, when a mutitape winding is performed continuously in a tape winding of a filament winding, a plurarity of traverse means are mounted for drawing out fiber bundles and said fiber bundles are rolled around a mold.
CONSTITUTION: Fiber bundles fed from fiber bobbins 4 are inpregnated with resin in a resin impregnating bath 5, and passes through traverse eyes 2 to be wound around a mold 1. In order to locate a plurarity of traverse eyes 2 in place of a single traverse eye, a plurarity of the traverse eyes 2 are mounted in a traverse eye-driving device 6, being driven by means of a drive chain 7, so that they are shifted in a position to such extent that fiber bundles are not superposed to each other and the fiber bundles drawn through their respective eyes are wound around the mold. In a FM method in which there is a limit to a winding speed and when a continuous multilayer hoop winding layer is wound, said procedure permits the shortening of a winding time and the manufacture of products which are free from poor resin- impregnation and fiber-breaking.
