Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the strip tension and to utilize the output from a motor effectively, by making the field flux of motor higher than the field flux proportional to conventional diameter, when the line speed is low and the coil diameter is short.
CONSTITUTION: The factor (h) of field flux is calculated at the factor arithmetic circuit 22 from line speed (v) detected by a line speed detector 21 and coil diameter D detected by a coil diameter detector 7. The field flux strengthening factor (h) is the ratio between the field flux in the invention and the field flux proportional with conventional diameter. When the strip is wound under such condition where the line speed (v) is lower than highest line speed, the field flux can be multiplied by (h) when compared with conventional one, and the tension applied on the strip is also multiplied by (h).
