EXAMPLE: 6-[ D(-)-α-[ 3-2,3-dihydroxybenzoyl )-1-wreido ]-α-phenylacetamide ]- penicillanic acid.
USE: An antibacterial agent. Exthremely effective against bacteria of the genus Pseudomonas.
PROCESS: A compound shown by the formula II or its reactive derivative is reacted with a compound shown by the formula III (X is halogen; Y is halogen, etc.; m is 1 or 2). The prepared reaction product is reacted with a compound shown by the formula IV or its reactive derivative to give a compound shown by the formula I or its salt.
