Abstract

PURPOSE: To make casting work easy by providing a check valve which makes use of elasticity to the connection part between the metal flask for vacuum casting and a vacuum suction pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A check valve is provided so as to maintain the degree of vacuum in the metal flask mold constant even if no vacuum suction is done after the time when the making of the mold by using the metal flask for vacuum casting is completed. For example, a check valve 1 is provided at the connection part 3 between a metal flask 2 and flexibile hose 8. When suction is started by a vacuum pump, the valve 7 which is energized toward a suction port 5 by a spring 6 detaches slightly from a valve east 5A by overcoming the force of the spring 6 and is therebly released of hermetic closing. The air in the metal flask 2 is passed through a vent hole 4 by a vacuum pump and is concentrated in the suction hole 5 to be increased of speed, thence it is exhausted so as to force up the valve 7. When the suction is ceased after the molding, the force of the spring 6 causes the valve 7 to contact the valve seat 5A, thereby closing the check valve 1 and maintain the inside of the metal flask 2 at the specified degree of vacuum.
