Abstract

PURPOSE: To run a tape at a constant speed and with constant tension by controlling a reel motor by detecting a control signal by comparing a signal, which corresponds to the rotation of either of supply or take-up reels, to a reference signal.
CONSTITUTION: For example, a pulse of every rotation is obtained from photodetector 16 through the rotation of supply-reel spindle 3 and supplied to counter 18 and frequency-voltage converter 19. Then, the reference voltage of reference voltage generator 30 is compared by comparator 31 with a voltage converted by frequency- voltage converter 19 and when the output voltage of converter 19 is lower than the reference voltage, driving current is supplied from electric power source 7 to motor 5 through buffer amplifier 24 and switch 8, etc., to rewind a tape. When the voltage of converter 19 increases above the reference voltage, the driving current is supplied from electric power source 7 to motor 6 to brake the tape in process of rewinding. Thus, the tape can be run at a constant speed and with constant tension.
