Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled steel by lowering the P content of steel for civil engineering and construction machinery and converting the structure into martensite or low temp. tempered martensite.
CONSTITUTION: This steel contains 0.21W0.35% C, 0.10W0.90% Si, 0.50W2.00% Mn, <0.015% P, 0.005W0.07% Al and 0.0005W0.01% in total of one or more among rare earth elements and Ca or further contains ≤0.90% in total of one or more among Cr, Mo, V and B. The components are adjusted so that Ph represented by equation I becomes ≤1.1%. This steel has martensite structure or low temp. tempered martensite structure tempered at ≤400°C, and it has very low weld crack sensitivity owing to its low P content, 130W200kg/mm2 tensile strength and wear resistance fit for civil engineering and construction machinery.
