Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the formation of chemical coating on the surface of zinc or zinc alloy, by performing physical plastic transformation processing and chemical activation on the surface of zinc or zinc alloy.

Surface activation of zinc is observed and reactivity for all kinds of chemical treatment is remarkably improved, when, for example, skin-pass rolling ratio becomes about ≥1% by performing rolling processing of zinc iron plate. Further, on occasion of wire drawing processing, reactivity for chemical treatment is improved from about 1% sectional area reduction rate.
