Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal head which has excellent thermal efficiency and easy connection with an outside lead by combining a photo method with a thick film methos and thereby lowering a lead conductor part than the layer of electrical insulating body for intercepting heat.
CONSTITUTION: An electroconductive material 2 is coated wholly on an insulating substrate 5 and further photosensitive resin 6 is coated thereon and dried. This photosensitive resin 6 is exposed selectively and the unnecessary part thereof is removed, and further chemical etching is applied so as to remove the unnecessary part of the layer of the electroconductive body 2 below as well. The part thus removed of the unnecessary part is filled up with thick-filmed electrical insulating paste 1 and dried, and later the burn-down of the photosensitive resin, as well as the burning of the electrical insulating paste, are performed by heating. Furthermore, a thick- filmed heating element is formed on the layer 1 of the electrical insulating body, thus a thermal head being obtained. Since the part of the heating element is projecting, thermosensitive paper can be heated correctly.
