Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the distortion of picture at joints, by performing tentative stop for a given time or more at recording while the tape is wounded on the head cylinder and starting the tape run after the cylinder reaches the constant revolution for the release of stop. CONSTITUTION:When tentative stop is made for a given time or more, the cylinder stop signal is fed to the cylinder drive circuit 5 with the timer circuit 4 and the revolution of the rotary head cylinder 6 is stopped while winding the magnetic tape 7. When the tentative stop is released, the tentative stop switch 2 is OFF, the rotary head cylinder 6 starts revolution and after the arrival of the number of revolutions to a constant speed is detected with the cylinder revolution detection circuit 8, the capstan motor 11 and the capstan 11a are turned via the capstan control circuit 9 and the capstan drive circuit 10 to start the running of the magnetic tape 7. Thus, the distortion of picture of recording signal for the joints can be prevented.
