Abstract

PURPOSE: To defoam a coating effectively by coating a solvent having a surface tension 5 dyne/cm or lower than that of a paint and solubility for the medium of the paint of 20wt% or more in a ratio of 1W50g/m2 on a paint coating in an undried condition.
CONSTITUTION: A solvent or a solution based on said solvent used in defoaming a paint coating has a surface tension lower than that of a liquid paint and the difference therebetween must be more than 5 dyne/cm or more as well as the solubility thereof for the medium of said liquid paint must be 20wt% or more and, especially, if the solubility is almost infinite, the defoaming effect becomes higher. Moreover, it is appropriate that the viscosity of a solvent or a solution based on said solvent is 20sec or less. Then, a solvent or a solution based on said solvent is coated on a paint coating in an undried condition in a proportion of about 1W50g/cm2.
