Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a monovalent electrolyte develop a good dehydrating property at least equal to that of a multivalent electrolyte, by a method wherein, in subjecting a suspension generated in a paper-making factory or the like to a solid-liquid separation treatment, an anionic org. high-molecular flocculating agent is added and mixed under a specific pH condition and, thereafter, the monovalent electrolyte is added.
CONSTITUTION: Examples of suspension is waste water, or a sludge and is treated under a condition with pH of 4W10. An anionic org. high-molecular flocculating agent is one with MW of 5 million or more and has a carbamoyl group as well as 5mol% or more of an anionic functional group against total functional groups and an acrylamide type flocculating agent is representative and may contain a copolymer with acrylonitrile, methacrylamide, styrene, acrylate or methacrylate. The amount to be used thereof is in a range of 0.02W5wt% on the basis of solid contents, pref., 0.1W1.0wt%. As a monovalent electrolyte, a hydrochloric acid salt, a sulfate, a phosphate, a carbonate or a nitrate are mentioned and the adding amount thereof is in a range of about 0.1W100 times wt. of the amount of the polymer.
