Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to determine the size of mosaic video element independently of the data amount able to be processed once by the P/S conversion section (where: P is parallel and S is serial), by storing the picture data read out from the video memory section to a plurality of registers. CONSTITUTION:The picture data is read out from the picture memory section 10 storing the picture data and it is fed to a plurality of registers 16a1-16an provided in the P/S conversion section 16, and each mosaic unit is converted into representing data. Accordingly, the size of the mosaic unit can be decided independently of the data number P processable once at the P/S conversion section 16. If the number of registers is one, register 16a1, there is restricition between the mosaic unit x and the data number p, giving hindrance free selection of them. Further, acutually, the number of registers 16a1-16an is 2-3, which can cover almost all the size of mosaic unit.
