Abstract

PURPOSE: To synergistically improve the antistatic properties of a thermoplastic resin, by adding to the resin, a hydroxyethyl group-containing amide compound and a glycerin monoalkyl (or alkenyl) ether.
CONSTITUTION: Titled resin composition is obtained by mixing (a) 100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin such as polyethylene or polypropylene, (b) a hydroxyethyl group-containing amide compound represented by formula I, wherein R1 is a 7W 21C alkyl or alkenyl group and m and n are each 1W10, (c) a glycerin monoalkyl (or alkenyl) ether so that the total amount of the components (b) and (c) is about 0.05W2pts.wt. and the weight ratio of the component (b) to component (c), b/c, is 8/2W2/8, pref., 6/4W3/7.
EFFECT: Various drawbacks resulting from poor dispersibility and compatibility can be eliminated.
