Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure an assured detection of the liquid level of the cooling medium, by providing several ultrasonic wave oscillator into a reactor with a prescribed space secured among them and along the vertical direction of the reactor and at the same time installing several ultrasonic receivers in opposition to those oscillators. CONSTITUTION:The water level detector 10 is installed within the reactor 1, and ultrasonic wave oscillator 13 are attached on the attachment surface of 12 of either one of the holders 11a and 11b of the detector 10, e.g., the upper holder 11a. On the other hand, the ultrasonic receivers 14 are attached on the surface 12 of the other holder 11b. These oscillators and receivers are opposed to each other in the vertical direction and with a prescribed space secure between them. In such case, it is supposed that the water surface 15 is existing between the highest oscillator 13 and the receiver 14. Thus the attenuation is increased between them since the ultrasonic wave transmits there via the evaporation layer, and accordingly the output signal level of the highest receiver 14 is lowered. Then the signal is processed by the signal processor to ensure an accurate detection for the position of the water level 15.
