Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the insertion and desertion of the roll to be safe and light, by arranging the supplementary roll table at the side of the bearing arm so as to be lined up with the roll table in series.

CONSTITUTION: When the new roll prepared correspondingly to the breadth of the sheet is to be inserted and set newly, the knob 20 is operated in order to release the engagement of the engaging parts of the bearing arm 7 on the waiting position side; after that, the ball grip 22 is grasped to pull out the bearing arm 7; hereby, the gear 12 and the journal of the roll 2A are disengaged, the bearing arm 7 turns around by its selfweight, and the roll table 27 is freed in the roll's axial direction. Next, the roll 2A placed on the roll table 27 is pulled out using the supplementary roll table 34 together; and the new roll is transmitted from the supplementary roll table 34 onto the roll table 27. Then, the bearing arm 7 is turned around upward, and is pushed to move toward the axial center of the pin 10 so as to make the engagement of the engaging parts and to engage the bearing arm 7 with the roll journal; after that, those are fixed by the knob 20; hereby, the new roll is set in the mill at the waiting position.
