Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect flow rate accurately even when flow rate largely varies by a mechanism wherein applied currents are alternately changed synchronizing with a generating period of a Karman's vortex stream, and heat rays for detecting the vortex are arranged at a location where its phase inverted mutually.
CONSTITUTION: A vortex generating body 4 is disposed conforming a center line to a suction air passage 1, and heat rays 5a, 5b for detecting a vortex are arranged in shapes that are mutually symmetrical to a center line in the air current direction. Since the signals of the Karman's vortex stream detected by the heat rays 5a, 5b are symmetrical alternating signals in shapes that phase is inverted mutually, a mean value component is offset by taking the difference of both signals, and only alternating signals can accurately by taken out. The heat rays may be disposed at an interval of half or 1.5 times of a pitch of the vortex along the current.
