Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the damage of a tape by holding a take-up speed constant by controlling the speed of a rewinding motor by detecting a control pulse recorded on a tape.
CONSTITUTION: In rewinding or fast forwarding mode, a control signal recorded on tape 1 is detected by control head 2. The output of this head 2 is sent to speed control circuit 3. Speed control circuit 3 outputs a control signal according to output generation intervals of control head 2 and with the control signal, the rotating speed of motor 4 is controlled. Consequently, the take-up speed of tape 1 in rewinding mode is equalized to that in fast forwarding mode. In beginning and ending operation, on the other hand, the control signal from speed control circuit 3 is detected by change detecting circuit 5 and according to the change of the control signal, the control of the beginning and ending of tape 1 is exercised.
