Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable independent dimensional adjustment by forming independent cathode structure supporting section and projecting said supporting section together with other grid electrode on a bead glass then inserting each directly heated cathode structure into a cathode structure supporting section. CONSTITUTION:A directly heated cathode structure 20 is constructed such that the first and second conductive supports 22, 23 and a spring support 24 are inserted into an insulating support 21 then a cathode tube 26 is inserted to enclose the side wall of the insulating support 21, thereafter an adhesive member mounted on a step 231 is melted then the cathode tube 26, the first and second conducting supports 22, 23 and a support 24 is secured through adhesive layers 271, 272 to the insulating support 21. A ribbon filament 28 is stretched between side walls 221 and 233 in the proximity of the top of the first and second conductive supports 22, 23 while a cathode 30 is secured approximately at the center of the filament 28.
