Abstract

PURPOSE: To desorb the alkali metal salt stuck on catalyst to regenerate and activate the catalyst by denitrating the low-temp. exhaust gas contg. alkaline metals and contacting the titanium-base catalyst with the high-temp. gas.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas from a waste incineration furnace or the like is added with ammonia on the way of a conduit 5 and is sent into the reactor 2 of a continuous moving bed type reaction tower 1. The exhaust gas reacts with a titanium-base catalyst 4 at low temperatures of 150W250°C to convert the nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas to N2, after which it is released. On the other hand, the alkali metals, halogen compounds, and sulfur oxides in the exhaust gas stick on the catalyst 4 by becoming alkali metal salts and are sent into the regenerator 3 on the reactor 2. The alkali metal salts having stuck on the catalyst 4 are desorbed from the catalyst 4 by the high-temp. gas of 400W600°C blown through a conduit 6 and the regenerated catalyst 4 is again sent into reactor 2. The similar effect is also obtainable even by installing the regenerator 3 on the lower side of the reactor 2.
