Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate the detection of load torque applied to an output shaft, by making a driving gear capable of being moved in the axial direction depending on the load torque applied to the output shaft and by detecting the displacement of the gear through a dial gauge or the like.
CONSTITUTION: In application to a joint function recovery unit for a bone-broken patient or the like, the patient is seated on a chair 15 and his or her leg is secured on a fixation plate 19 by a band 21. A wheel 17 is then rotated to swing an arm 18 in the direction of an arrow C through a worm shaft 3, a worm wheel 10 and a shaft 9 to bend the knee of the leg whose muscles have stiffened due to a gypsum treatment for the broken bone. The stiffness of the muscles is thus eliminated. In that case, the shaft 3 is displaced downward against a spring 5 depending on torque applied to the other saft 9. The displacment is transmitted to a dial gauge 7. As a result, the torque can easily be detected and a safe force can be applied to the leg.
