Abstract

PURPOSE: To open and close a bottom valve of a tank lorry quickly and enhancing shut-off efficiency by designing a batterfly valve operable from the upper part of the tank and equipping a liquid exhaust tube with a shut-off valve at the mounting part of the tube in such an arrangement that it can be operated from below.
CONSTITUTION: A batterfly valve 7 is installed on a liquid exhaust tube at the undersurface of a tank 2. This valve 7 is opened and closed from above the tank 2 with a handle 9 and through a valve stem 8. A batterfly valve according to this arrangement can be opened and closed quickly, that will well meet requirements in shipping work. Lining of this batterfly valve 7 with rubber will give an effective sealing for the valve seat as well as good protection of the valve against corrosion.
