Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure a volatile organic solvent contained in water solution easily and with high precision by a method wherein the solvent is once adsorbed by a filler within a concentrating tube and then, by heating the tube rapidly, it is introduced into a gas chromatograph.
CONSTITUTION: After the carrier gas is supplied from a cylinder 22 into a measuring system continuously under the prescribed condition of pressure and flow rate, a concentrating tube 8 is taken outside of a cooling tank 10, burnt by a heater 12 being electrified, and then cooled again in the cooling tank 10. Next, the water solution containing a volatile organic solvent is supplied from a septum 5 into a sample tube 1, the organic solvent is separated by the carrier gas blown in, and the solvent is sent in the concentrating tube 8 and there adsorbed by a filler. After that, the adsorbed constituent of solvent is evaporated by heating the concentrating tube 8 rapidly by the heater 12 and the evaporated solvent is introduced into a gas chromatograph (GC) without being diffused by the help of the carrier gas sent in, where it is analyzed.
