Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition adhering to a metal or ceramics strongly and resistant to boiling water, with excellent antifouling property etc., comprising a modified ethylenevinyl acetate copolymer with a specific composition and a low- molecular polymer of maleic anhydride and styrene(s).
CONSTITUTION: To 100pts.wt. of a modified ethylenevinyl acetate copolymer (A) obtained by graft-polymerizing an unsaturated carboxylic acid to ethylenevinyl acetate copolymer or a hydrolysate of an ethylenevinyl acetateunsaturated carboxylic acid terpolymer containing 3W40mol% of vinyl acetate, 1W40pts.wt. of a low- molecular copolymer (B) of styrene(s) shown by the formula (wherein R1 is H, 1W4C alkyl; X1 and X2 are each H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl, halogen) with maleic anhydride is compounded.
EFFECT: A coating with excellent, boiling water resistance, warm water resistance, antifouling property, mechanical strength and corrosion resistance is formed.
