Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily prevent the crosstalk from adjacent tracks by reducing the width of recording area with an erasing gap provided to a location corresponding to both ends of write-read gap via a prescribed nonmagnetic substance layer.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic head consists of a write-read magnetic head core 24 having a write-read gap 23 formed between the opposing surfaces of a magnetic substance cores 21, 22 via a nonmagnetic substance spacer, and an erasing magnetic head core 28 having an erasing gap 27 formed between opposing surfaces of magnetic substance cores 25, 26 via a nonmagnetic substance spacer. These magnetic cores 24, 28 are formed incorporatedly via a nonmagnetic substance layer such as ceramic, the both ends of the write-read gap 24 are provided with a notch 30 regulating the gap width TW, and the erasing gap 27 is formed with a hole 31 having the width GW the same as or less than said width TW.
