Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of step sounds by a method wherein both of suction and scavenging ports are opened so as to form a cylinder wall among them into substantially T-shape or the like having a pressure receiving surface dividing the suction port into two divisions as a base portion thereof, in a cylinder having the auxiliary scavenging port above the suction ports.
CONSTITUTION: In a cylinder 2 for a 2-cycle engine, an exhaust port 3 is opened at one side thereof and an auxiliary scavenging port 4 as well as suction ports 5 are opened at the other side thereof opposing to the exhaust port 3. These suction ports 5 are formed into a two divisions type 5a, 5b having a pressure receiving surface 6 in a longitudinal direction of the cylinder and the auxiliary scavenging port 4 is opened separately so as to form a cylinder wall 7 into substantially T-shape or Y-shape having the said pressure receiving surface 6 as a base portion thereof. A recessed portion 8 is formed beforehand on an inner surface of the cylinder wall 7 ready to be recessed by a thermal expansion upon an operating time of the engine. This recessed portion 8 is connected to the auxiliary scavenging port 4 and is recessed so as to be inclined toward the port 4.
