Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the detection of whether the total amount of powers of electric and fluid brakes reaches a fixed value or not by a method wherein a diaphragm chamber in whicn an output pressure of an auxiliary relay valve is introduced is provided additionally for a pressure switch in a control device for the electric rolling stock wherein above two brakes are used together.
CONSTITUTION: When a braking instruction is given to instruction lines SB1WSB3 through the operation of a brake controller 1, electromagnetic valves 3W5 of a brake control device 2 are demagnetized or excited properly and the compressed air from an air tank is supplied to each of diaphragm chambers 12a1W12a3 of a multiple relay valve 12. The compressed air controlled properly by the valve 12 is sent to an auxiliary relay valve 14 and makes a piston 16 move up and down in accordance with its differential pressure with the fluid pressure sent through an electro-fluid pressure converting valve 15, thus an output pressure being sent out to a brake cylinder from an output port 17. In the device, a pressure switch 19 in which a part of the output pressure is introduced is provided additionally with a diaphragm 19b3 and a chamber 19a3 contributing to the motion of a piston rod 24 and a part of the output fluid pressure of the valve 12 is introduced in the chamber 19a3 from a pipe 28.
