Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve comfortableness to ride on a vehicle, by decreasing the rigidity of the leaf spring at the span located on the side of a shackle with respect to that of the leaf spring at the span located on the side of a pin, and thereby decreasing the spring constant of the leaf spring while keeping a sufficient rigidity to the input force acted longitudinally of the leaf spring. CONSTITUTION:The span A of the leaf spring 4 on the side of a pin has a length equal to that of the span B on the side of a shackle, but the thickness of the leaf spring 4 on opposite sides of the center C is so selected that the thickness along the span B on the side of the shackle is smaller than that along the span A on the side of the pin. That is, rigidity of the leaf spring 4 on the side of span B is made lower than that on the side of span A by changing the taper along the leaf.
