Abstract

PURPOSE: To earlier and surely detect abnormality of a water-supply pipe by a method wherein a water level of a distributing reservoir and flow rates of a distributed and conveyed water are always detected and those resultant values are com- pared.
CONSTITUTION: An L/F arithmetic unit 9 is fed inputs with flow rate F1 detected by means of a conveyance flow meter 4 and time-corrected through a time correcting circuit 11 and a water level signal detected by a water level qauge 8 provided in the distributing reservoir 3. Then, the relationship between a flow rate F2 obtained from a change rate of the water level in the distribution reservoir 3 and a flow rate F3 detected by means of a flow meter of distributing water is set to be F1= F2+F3. Accordingly, when abnormality such as breaks takes place in a water supply pipe 2, the relation becomes as F1>F2+F3, which is compared with the former by means of a comparison amplifier 12, so that the abnormality of the water supply pipe 2 can be detected earlier and surely.
