Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the equipment eliminating the necessity of a special sensor for detecting the size of transfer paper by utilizing a sensor provided in the carrying route of transfer paper for detection of the side of transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:The microcomputer that controls the copier counts on-time of a jam detecting sensor 27 installed in the copier with a pulse counter and stores. The stored time is the time required for the transfer paper to pass through the sensor, and corresponds to the size of transfer paper. Accordingly, the microcomputer detects the size of transfer paper from the on-time and controls the time for exposing and scanning the script. In this way, the sensor for detecting the size of transfer paper can be made unnecessary and the size of equipment can be made small. Besides the jam detecting sensor, other sensor can also be used for detecting the size of transfer paper.
