Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable easy joining of two floating box bodies on the sea by a method wherein holes are made in the concave conical surface of one floating box body and in a convex fitting part of the other, respectively, and an strained wire passed through the holes is pulled.
CONSTITUTION: A concave fitting device 4 is provided on one floating box body 1 to be joined, while a convex fitting device 8 being provided on the other floating box body 2, and further small holes are made in the respective fitting devices 4 and 8. Then, a strained wire 11 is passed through the small holes and is pulled by a pulling device 24. By this, both floating box bodies 1 and 2 are brought near to each other, the concave fitting device 4 of the body 1 is engaged with the convex fitting device of the body 2, and thus both bodies 1 and 2 can be joined. In this way, the concave conical surface produces the centripetal force between a tube and the convex body, which enables the joining on any given joining surface, while making a pulley and a post used for changing the direction of the strained wire unnecessary.
