Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform the operation automatically by a constitution wherein a pair of filter paper sheets one end of which is dipped in the buffer solution and the other end of which is fitted to an elastic member is provided in an electrophoretic box and each one end of the pair of filter paper sheets is pressed on a substrate coated with serum by the elastic force of the elastic member.

CONSTITUTION: A cassette 50 whereon the substrate such as a cellulose acetate film is fixed is put on belts 15 and 16 and moved, and, after dipping thereof in the buffer solution 12 and application of the serum thereto are completed, the cassette is introduced into the electrophoretic box 20. Next, the cassette 50 is separated from the belts 15 and 16 and stopped on a holding block 33. At this time, both right and left ends of the cassette 50 are positioned so as to touch the ends of spring boards 31 and 32 supporting filter paper sheets 29 and 30 and thereby the ends of the filter paper sheets 29 and 30 contact surely with the substrate fixed on the cassette 50. When the cassette 50 is electrified under the condition, the electrification is performed through the intermediary of the filter paper sheets 29 and 30 dipped in the buffer solution 23 and 24, and thus the electrophoresis is performed automatically.
