Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the treating efficiency for polluted water in biological treating apparatus for polluted water, by providing a mechanism for spraying gas-liquid mixture at the lower part of a packing layer to which microorganisms are adhered.
CONSTITUTION: A packing layer is equipped with an injector type air-diffusing nozzle at its lower part so as to supply sufficient air and to allow the polluted water to contact with microorganisms. Raw polluted water 1 is charged through a flow meter 12 to the bottom of a deep aeration tank 2. At the bottom of the tank 1 is provided an injector type air-diffusing nozzle 7 directed downward at about 45° angle. Treated water is sent through a line 13 and a pump 8 to the nozzle 7 together with air sent by a blower 6 in order to spray gas-liquid mixture contg. superfine air bubbles. The gas-liquid mixture passes through the packing layer 3, to which microorganisms are adhered, so as to supply air to the packing and is allowed to contact with the microorganisms sufficiently. Treated clean water is sent from the upper part of the tank to a settling tank 9, where precipitate 10 is drawn off from the lower part, and the treated liquid 5 is discharged. Hereby the treatment of polluted water is performed efficiently.
