Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the taking of the normal obsrvation photographs near the zenith which are not reversed, by mounting the zenith observing device mounted therein with a pentagonal prism or two mirrors to a Keplerian telescope.
CONSTITUTION: The barrel 4 of the zenith observing device consisting of a case 3 mounted with a pentagonal prism 2 or two mirrors 7, 8 therein as shown in the figure and a barrel 4 and a barrel 5 is inserted into a Keplerian telescope 9 and a camera 12 is mounted by using a camera adapter 10 and a camera attachment 11. If a picture is then taken, it becomes a normal picture. In the case of observing the zenith by eyes, the camera adpater 10 is removed and in place, an eyepiece is fitted in the barrel 5, thence observation is done. The pentagonal prism is 90° in e.g. one angle and 12.5° in the remaining four angles. This is so arranged that light enters the prism 2 like an arrow 6 and goes out by changng direction 90°, but this may not always be so.
